Day 2 – Work It

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17

Faith is a muscle that must be exercised and used to be developed. You have heard
the expression – “use it or lose it.” Such is the case with your faith. In order for your
faith to grow and increase, you must use it by applying to your life situations.

I recently was on a brief mini-vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. While there, my wife and I
went to the gym to work out. After spending about 30 minutes on the treadmill, I made
my way over to the weights and did reps with 20 lbs and 25 lbs weight. Though that is
not very heavy, my reason for using such a low volume of weights is because I had not
worked with weights in a long time. It would have been foolish for me to start with 100
lb weights and risk injury than to start with a low volume and work myself up. Such is
the case with your faith.

Use your faith by applying it to small cases and small situations until it grows and can
be applied to large cases and large situations. For example, don’t try to believe for
$1,000.00 in one week if you have not first used your faith for $100.00 in one month. As
you receive the manifestation from your faith, it will build up your confidence and trust in
God and his word for greater.

I was once meditating on the above-referenced scripture from James: “Faith without
works is dead….” I realized that your faith needs something to work on and be applied
to in order to keep it alive and growing. Today, make the decision to work your faith and
watch it grow.

Faith Stretching Exercises:

1. What is it that you are believing God to do?
2. What is the next level for your faith?
3. Set some faith goals for this week, this month, and this year.
